Frequently asked questions
What is a URN and do I need one?
A Unique Reference Number lets the police respond to a monitored alarm activation. Only alarms installed and maintained by an accredited company such as Fitz, through SSAIB, can be issued one. Read our police response guide.
Wired or wireless: which is better?
Both are reliable. Wired suits new builds and refurbishments, while wireless is quicker to fit with less mess. Hybrid systems mix the two. We'll recommend what suits your property.
Can I control the alarm from my phone?
Yes. Our app-controlled systems let you set and unset the alarm, get notifications and see which zone triggered from anywhere.
Will an alarm lower my insurance?
Many insurers offer better terms for an accredited, maintained alarm, and some require one for business cover. Check your policy, and we can provide the certificates they ask for.
